2021 Kapa haka - Te Pae Tamariki

Kia ora te whānau Kapa haka!

Ngā mihi o te tau hau! Happy New Year and I hope your first term has gone well so far.

We are back into the swing of things and I think, despite our late start this term, we have had record numbers of tamariki and teachers coming along to give kapa haka a go which is awesome!

Kapa haka is on Fridays at 11am and the Juniors stay till approx 11:20 am and the Year 3 - 6 tamariki stay on until approx 12:10 pm.

Te Pae Tamariki (the primary schools festival) is on towards the end of Term 2 this year and is open to any Year 3 to 6 tamariki who consistently attend practises and can attend the extra two Sunday workshops for preparation.  A notice is going home this week for those tamariki who indicated they are interested.

During Term 2 the 11:20am onward practise time will be only for those coming to TPT.

The waiata at the top of this blog have been updated to show our set but I have kept Ko Rangitane Tenei as it is our pōwhiri waiata. Please make use of the videos and lyrics to practise at home regularly.

Ngā mihi nui

2019 Te Pae Tamariki

Tēnā koutou e te whānau!

2019 Term 2 is well under way with Te Haeata practising for Te Pae Tamaiki 2019 which is on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th June this year  (week 8 of Term 2).

With Te Pae Tamariki being just weeks away, Friday practises this term will be for just this Year 3-6 rōpu.

Notices will go out early week 3 about the additional Sunday practises we have scheduled ahead of TPT.

Waiata at the top of this blog have been altered to show the waiata we are learning. Please practise at home so you are learning the words and actions.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Kindy visit!

On Friday 15th September, Milverton Kindergarten and ABC Marne came to College Street to visit our Kapa Haka group. It is always so special performing to and with our preschool tamariki who may one day come to our kura and join our ropu!

Nga mihi nui to the kaiako from both centres who helped make this possible and Pa Smiler as always!
